Travelogue: Lemontea in the heart of Bangkok

For quite some time now my hotel search criteria ignores how many stars the hotel has been rated by some rating bodies ; instead I look for unique home away from home with great reviews from travelers.  On my recent trip to Bangkok, I went as far as to book a hotel with no reviews as they have just been opened for a few months but it looks great and had a great story.

The LemonTea Hotel situated in the heart of shopping district Pratunam caught my eye with its uniquely decorated rooms and lobby. It was reasonably priced which meant I could spent more on shopping, that’s a win- win!

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome drink and the friendliest and helpful crew who made our stay really homey. I was tasked by my mom to buy a kind of crab bean paste and the crew rang the manufacturer to hunt it down for me; how sweet!
The location of the hotel used to be a dilapidated bungalow plot of land which they demolished and built the LemonTea Hotel from ground up. Every room had simple but unique décor that exudes comfort and coziness. It is equipped for individuals looking for long stay as it comes with coin-operated laundry room and your own letterbox. You can totally imagine a writer staying here in the back streets of the bustling shopping district conjuring up his next great piece of work while occasionally stepping out unto the busy streets for inspiration.

Although we visited other great 5 star hotels in the posh district, I will still choose Lemontea should I return to Bangkok. It’s down to earth and personal approach to travelers has captured my heart.
